Muskan Jain

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Economics at LSE. My main fields of interest are labour and development economics. I hold an MSc in Economics from LSE and a BA (Hons.) in Economics from St. Stephen's College (University of Delhi). I have previously worked as a research assistant at NYU (Abu Dhabi) and have experience of carrying out research with leading think tanks in India.

Street Vendors' Demand for Regulation: Valuing the Legal Right to Occupy

with Lachi Singh (supported by BA and IGC)

This research investigates the implementation of the Street Vendors Act (2014) in India, focusing on vendors’ demand for regulated vending spaces and how their valuation varies based on characteristics such as product type and social networks.

Participation in Public Spaces

(supported by IGC)

This project examines the impact of public transportation improvements on use of public spaces. By assessing how transit enhancements influence access to public spaces, the research fills a critical gap in urban policy studies.
